What can I put in a QR code?
Any text up to a few thousand characters — most commonly a website URL, but also plain text, phone numbers, or standard formats like Wi-Fi (WIFI:S:name;T:WPA;P:password;;) and contact (vCard) strings, which phones recognise automatically when scanned.
Do QR codes made with this tool expire?
No. These are static QR codes: your text is encoded directly into the pattern itself, with no redirect through our servers. The code will work forever, but the content cannot be changed after creation — generate a new code if the URL changes.
What does the error correction level do?
Error correction adds redundancy so the code still scans when partially damaged or obscured. Level L tolerates about 7% damage, M 15%, Q 25% and H 30%. Higher levels make the pattern denser, so use M for general purposes and H if you plan to print small or add a logo.
Is it private? Where is the QR code generated?
The QR code is drawn entirely in your browser on a local canvas. The text you encode is never uploaded, logged or stored on any server, so it is safe for links, credentials and other sensitive content.
